Evolution Unit Reflection
Throughout our Evolution unit this year, our class as a whole has learned various different things.
1.) Throughout this unit, I've learned about:
2.) The dissections this year were the most enjoyable aspect for me, because it was more hands-on learning, which is always fun for me. It was most enjoyable to learn about the different parts of various different animals by taking them apart and truly looking inside. However, the dissections were not the activities that taught me the most this year. During this unit, I feel that I learned the most out of the "Your Inner Fish" videos.
3.) My least favorite activity of this year was the terrarium lab. I felt like it was very uneventful and didn't teach us much of anything. The activity could've been better if we were given materials to make our terrariums, because the aspect of bringing our own materials really slowed down the process of beginning, and hardly anybody brought in the materials they were planning to use. If we were assigned a terrarium to create with certain materials already on hand, then it would have been much better.
4.) This unit made me curious about future evolution. It made me wonder what humans may evolve into over time, and if the human species will ever make it to a point where a new species is created. These ideas and curiosities will help me to later make connections with animals that I wouldn't have otherwise.
1.) Throughout this unit, I've learned about:
- Transitional species which lived in the past that link species together through evolution.
- Currently present comparisons between humans and fish.
- Common traits between seemingly unrelated organisms that live on Earth today.
